Alfred E. "Buddy" Ball, III, 75 of Talcott, passed away Monday Jan. 27, 2020  following a long illness.

Born August 19, 1944 in Hinton, he was the son of the late Alfred E. Ball, Jr. and Nina L. Johnson Ball.

Buddy was a 1962 graduate of Talcott High School. He retired from Verizon Corp. and also owned and operated Ball Small Engine Repair in Talcott. He was a member of the Hinton Masonic Lodge and the John Henry Days Festival committee. He was also a member of Trinity Methodist Church at Talcott. Buddy enjoyed hunting, fishing and drag racing. Buddy was a also a former member of Talcott Fire Dept.

He was preceded in death by a son, Warren Louis Ball and a sister, Janie Louise Ball.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Wanda Adkins Ball; two daughters, Melanie Adkins (Bryan) of Blacksburg, VA and Allison Ball of Talcott; one brother, William L. Ball of Ballengee, WV; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 29, 2020 at Trinity Methodist Church, Talcott with Pastors Bob Talbott and Gary Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Talcott Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until time of services on Wednesday at the church.

Pallbearers will be; Tom and John David Kessler, L.W. "Buster" Thompson, Jonathan Adkins, Tim Ulrich and Hurshel Cales.
