Alfreda Gay Brush, 75, of Forest Hill, WV passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Hinton, WV on December 23, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Elton and Erma McNeer Grimmett.

Alfreda, affectionately known as "Freda", had a smile that could light up the entire room, and her laugh was infectious.  She loved to travel and enjoyed gardening and cooking.  Her greatest joy on this earth was her family. Alfreda was an example of how to love your family, and she will be forever missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 55 years, Doyle "Eddie" Brush; daughters, Tara Tidstrom (Fred) and Ami Bratton (David); grandchildren, Tommy Tidstrom (Sarah) and Ty Tidstrom (fiancé Emma).

A celebration of Alfreda's life will be held at a later time.

My Mother

My mother is a woman like no other.  She gave me life, nurtured me, taught me, dressed me, kissed me, but most importantly she loved me unconditionally.  There are not enough words to describe just how important my Mother is to me and what a powerful influence she continues to be.  Mother, I Love You.
