Obituary

Alvin W. Willey, 89 of 1006 Terrace St. Hinton, passed away Tuesday March 5 th , 2019 at Main Street Care in Hinton with his family by his side.

Born February 24, 1930 at Forest Hill, he was the son of the late William W. and Eliza Harvey Willey.

Alvin was a 1947 graduate of Hinton High School and attended Beckley College. He spent the first 10 years of his career in insurance and real estate, followed by 24 years of service at the National Bank of Summers which included the position of First Vice President. Alvin retired in 1996 from the Summers County Assessor's Office as a real estate appraiser. He was a member of the Army National Guard for many years and also was a member of Bellepoint Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon as long as his health permitted.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Glyndon, Garnett, Howard, Bernard and Harry Willey. Also preceded by three sisters, Gladys Smithson, Genesee Willey and Madeline Peyton.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Margaret Ball Willey. Two daughters, LuAnn Whitaker of Talcott and Jennifer Farley and husband Norman of Jumping Branch. Six grandchildren, Bethany Isaac (Rick), Laura Episcopo (Michael), Benjamin Farley (Jennifer), Jarrod Whitaker (Jennifer), Jonathan Farley (Shannon) and Norman Neil Farley (Susan). Twelve great grandchildren, Taylor and Brandan Isaac, Kelli and Caleb Lephew, Dylan Whitaker, Allie and Lynnzie Farley, Carter Episcopo, and Jillian, Bronson, Reagan, and Penelope Farley, as well as a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday March 10, 2019 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastors Robbie Merritt and Gary Trout officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until service time of Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be; Benji, Jonathan and Neil Farley, Jarrod Whitaker, Rick Isaac and Michael Episcopo.
