Anna "Lorene" Tyree, 85, of Nimitz, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, surrounded by family, at Summers Nursing and Rehab at Hilldale.
Born March 25, 1933, at Sand Knob, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles Wilson Lilly and Dessie Hamm Lilly, and stepdaughter of Orah Hamm Lilly.
Lorene was a member of First Christian Church in Hinton. After graduation, she worked as a telephone operator until starting a family. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, working in her church and was a faithful servant who was always lending a hand to help others. In addition to her parents and stepmother, Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Tyree in 2005, sisters, Faye Hamm, Jackie Brumit, and Mildred Messer, brothers, Charles Lilly, Pastor Phillip Lilly, Donald Hamm, Pastor Darrell Hamm and Van Hamm.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Terri Meador and husband Gary, and Jane Keaton, grandchildren, Chad Meador and wife Megan, Todd Meador and wife Ella, Lindsay Fitzsimmons and husband Thomas, and Jordan Keaton and wife Anissa. Great-grandchildren, Trent, Marlee, and Liv Meador, Jacob Fitzsimmons, Jason and Garrett Meador, and Jacob Mann. Siblings surviving are Geraldine Meadows, Shelby Jean Warden and husband Gerald, Billy Lilly, and wife Gwen, Virginia Mills, Myrtle Harvey, Mack Hamm, and wife Rosie, Frank Hamm and wife Ruby, Mae Hurt and husband Vernon; sister-in-laws, Gloria Lilly, Velma Lilly, Rhodetta Jones Hamm, and numerous special nieces and nephews. Also left to cherish her memory is a long-time friend, Virginia Bragg Ratliff.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March, 2, 2019 at First Christian Church in Hinton with grandson, Chad Meador, and Pastor Gary Adkins officiating. Entombment will follow in the Lilly Crews Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Saturday, at the church. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
