Arthur K. Richmond, 91, of Pluto, passed away, on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV.

Born November 6, 1927, at Pluto, he was the son of the late William Grant, and Lillie Bell Meadows Richmond.

He was a farmer, as long as health permitted, and was best known for the thousands of Christmas trees that he sold to the people in the area.  He was a member of the Bethel Methodist Church, at Pluto. Arthur was a lifelong resident of Pluto and affectionately known as the "Mayor of Pluto".   He was the last remaining member of his immediate family.

He was preceded in death by 22 brothers and sisters, and a very special daughter-in-law, Patricia Sue Brogan Richmond.

Those left to cherish his memory are two sons, Bruce Richmond, and wife Patricia, of Barger Springs, and Larry Richmond of Pluto, two daughters, Judy Bragg and husband Donnie Russell Bragg, and Debbie Vest and husband Kenny, also of Pluto.

Eleven grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren also survive.

A graveside service will be Friday, April 19, 2019, at 12:00 noon, at the Richmond Cemetery, at Pluto, with Pastor Eddie Wills officiating.  Friends may gather to be with the family from 11:00 am until time of the service.  Pallbearers are Adam, Austin, and Ethan Vest, Cody and Aaron Halstead, Caleb Atkins.  Honorary pallbearers will be other grandsons.

The family would like to thank, second floor staff of Summers County ARH, and Bowers Hospice House for their wonderful and compassionate care.  They would also like to thank Dr. Jenny GilBhnghde and Kathy McHenry for their gentleness and kindness.
