Bessie Marie Trout, age 93, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born on September 28, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Amos Franklin Martin and Vida Mae Martin.

Bessie was a lifelong resident of Summers County. She was of the Christian faith and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her home was always filled with the aroma of something good to eat and she loved spending time with her family.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters; two brothers; one daughter, Mary Trout; former husband, Ralph Trout; companion of 48 years, Billy Joe Meadows; grandchildren, Michael Trout and Lee Cooper; great grandchildren, Joseph Wall and Timothy Trout, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Ralph Trout (Brenda) of Hinton, WV, James Trout (Loretta) of Talcott, WV, and David Trout of Hinton, WV; daughters, Dorothy Keeney of Charleston, WV and Shirley Dillon (Kenneth) of Crab Orchard, WV; brother, Jesse Martin of Connecticut; sisters, Margaret Martin and Della May Ayers, both of Hinton, WV; 17 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Benny Cozort officiating. Burial will follow at Greenbrier Burial Park in Hinton. Friends may visit the funeral home on Friday from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
