Betty Jane Adkins of Hinton, WV went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at the age of 80 following a long illness.

Born on April 12, 1944 in Hinton, WV she was the daughter of the late William and Nina Kesner.

Betty worked as a housekeeper for many residents in her community. She was a true cleaning professional and loved by all her clients. In addition, she was a wonderful homemaker known for her dedication to her family and her delicious homemade biscuits.  Betty enjoyed collecting trinkets of all types. Spending time with her family was her greatest joy and she will be sadly missed.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Harold Junior Adkins II, her grandson, Floyd Justin Cook and all her siblings.  She was the last member of her immediate family.

Those left to cherish her precious memory include her beloved husband of 65 years, Harold Junior Adkins; daughters, Carolyn Adkins and companion David Sears of Hinton, WV, Kathy Harvey of Jumping Branch, WV, Bonnie Cook and companion Gene Mills of Barksdale, WV, Rebecca Yopp, Jeannie Adkins, and Betty Jean Adkins and companion Edward Fox all of Hinton, WV; sons, David Adkins and wife Gayla of Greenville, WV and Russell Adkins of Hinton, WV; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Pivont Funeral Home in Hinton, WV with Pastor Ronald Cobb officiating. Burial will follow at Adkins Cemetery at Hilltop in Hinton.  Friends may visit from 12:00 pm until the time of the service at the Funeral Home on Friday.

The pallbearers will be Jason Yopp (grandson), Joshua Harvey (grandson), Shayden Huff (great grandson), Leo Chavis (great grandson), Tacoma Cook (great grandson), and William Kesner (nephew).  Honorary pallbearers will be David Sears, Gene Mills, and Edward Fox.
