Obituary

Betty Joyce Clinebell, 87 of 620 Nelson Street, Hinton, died Tuesday December 13, 2016 at her home.

Born August 29, 1929 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence A. and Verna Dowdy Willey.

Mrs. Clinebell was a graduate of Hinton High School, a former employee of C&P Telephone Company in Hinton and was a retired operator/clerk for the C&O Railway Company in Hinton. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Hinton and was the director of the Awana program at the church for 30 years. She was also a member of the Fidelis Sunday School class and the In His Service ministry at the church. Betty was a member of the Bluestone Boat Club, and along with her husband enjoyed water skiing and fishing.

She was preceded in death by a son, Steve Clinebell; one brother, Lawrence "Buddy" Willey and one sister, Wanda Summers.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Thomas O. Clinebell; two sons, David Clinebell and wife Venesia of Jumping Branch and Joe Clinebell and wife Becky of Hinton. One sister, Doris Jean Bennett of Hinton. Six grandchildren, Kim Jordan and husband Patrick of Hinton, Tad Clinebell of Beckley, Erica Reed of Hilldale, Shawn Titta of Jumping Branch, Corey Lambert and wife Casey of Lewisburg and Melissa Kirkham and husband Brad of Hinton. Six great grandchildren, Sydney and Clay Jordan, Parker Reed, Layne Lambert and Bella and Colt Kirkham.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday December 16, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Hinton with Pastors Jeff Canterbury and Gary Trout officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenbrier Burial Park Mausoleum. Friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday evening at Pivont Funeral Home in Hinton, and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.

Pallbearers will be; Patrick and Clay Jordan, Corey Lambert, Brad Kirkham, Shawn Titta, Parker Reed and Erik Lindsey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greenbrier Baptist Youth Camp, 1387 E. Clayton Rd. Alderson, WV 24910.
