Betty Ann Willey Spade, 82 of Piney View passed away Saturday Feb. 1, 2020 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley following a long illness.

Born August 24, 1937 in Summers County, she was the daughter of the late Brady Hayes and Dorothy Wyant Willey.

Ms. Spade was a graduate of Hinton High School and was a waitress at Shoney's. She moved to Carolina Beach, NC where she lived for 20 years. While there, she managed a restaurant, and was actively involved as a surrogate grandmother for children of addicted parents. She enjoyed yard-selling and Ebaying and was a member of Terry Independent Church at Prince, WV.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Willey, one brother, Keith Willey and one sister, Dorothy Scheiderich.

Survivors include two sons, James "Bo" Vandall and wife Sheena of Beckley and Stephen Spade of Carolina Beach, NC; one daughter, Renata Wiseman of Piney View, WV; one brother, Donald Willey and wife Danita of Jackson, TN; two sisters, Ella Sue Hellems and husband Tommy Joe of Carolina Beach, NC and Linda Ballard and husband Doug of Beckley; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday Feb. 7,  2020 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Lynn Halstead officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Cremation services will follow the funeral service.
