Bicy Evelyn Smith, 98, of Meadow Creek, WV, passed away peacefully on Monday May 4, 2026 at Main Street Care in Hinton, WV.
Born in Glade, WV on October15, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Dorsey and Beulah Bennett.
Bicy lived a long and dedicated life of faith, community, and service. She was a proud graduate of Montgomery High School. A pillar of her community, she was the longest running member of Meadow Creek Baptist Church, where her faithful service inspired generations. She was a familiar face in the community, starting her career at Simmons Store at Sandstone before later dedicating her time to working at Foodland and Simmons Hardware Store.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Buren Leslie Martin; second husband; Walter Smith; two infant brothers, James and Isaac Bennett; stepson, Nicholas Kelley-Smith; one great granddaughter, Ashley Swann.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Carol Koester (Jerry) of Newburg, MD, Ruhama Barker (Jerry) of Surfside Beach, SC, Shelby Coffman (Paul) of Hinton, WV, Melanie Moten (Gary) of Beaver, WV, and Jeri Thomas (David) of San Antonio, TX; one stepson, Daniel Smith (Janet) of Ohio; 8 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 2 step great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton, WV with Pastor Harry Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton, WV. Friends may visit from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Michael Moten, Matt Mooney, John Cvecko, Casey Johnson, Eugene Jones, and Luke Jones.
Honorary pallbearers include Tom Scott, Jerry Gwinn, Mark Ward, Timothy Grimmett, Douglas Harris, Darrell Cooper, and Oliver Stone.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Main Street Care for their kind and loving care and to Hospice of Southern West Virginia.
