Brenda M. Hathcock, 84 of Chesterfield, VA passed away Sunday May 25, 2025 at Hanover Health and Rehabilitation in Mechanicsville, VA following a long illness.

Born January 25, 1941 in Marie, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ernest C. and Deita V. Light Welder.

Brenda was a former nurse's aide at various locations in West Virginia and was also formerly employed by Phillip Morris Corporation in Richmond, VA. She had been a resident of the Richmond area since 2011.

Brenda was a long-time member of Berean Baptist Church in Richmond, VA.

Besides her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Stewart (David), first husband Ernest "Bubba" Williams, second husband Harold Allen, and third husband Raymond Hathcock as well as two brothers, Gerald Sr (Dianne still living) and David Welder (Betty).

Left to cherish her memory includes a sister, Phyllis Welder Sterling (Reginald) of Midlothian, VA; nieces Darlene Washburn (Tim) of Aiken, SC, Lorene Hall (Cliff) of Richmond, VA, Robin Riley (Tim) of Columbus, OH, Shelia Haynes (Steve) of North Chesterfield, VA, Tammy Bennett (Brian) of Bennettsville, AR, Dana Gautier of Houston, TX and nephew Gerald Welder Jr (Angie) of Alabama.

Graveside services will be held at New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery in Marie, WV on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 1:30 pm with Pastor Mike Tabor officiating. Friends will be received from 12 pm to 1:15 pm at the Church on Saturday.  Burial will follow.
