Brenda Sue Plumley, 77 of Hinton passed away Tuesday February 15, 2022 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley following a long illness.

Born January 12, 1945 in Clifton Forge, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late James Earl "Chick" and Ida Boone Garrett.

Brenda was retired from the Summers County Health Department, having worked for 38 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hinton and enjoyed playing on her tablet and watching Fox News. Brenda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed by her entire family. Brenda loved her pets, especially her favorite cat, Lovey.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. "Pat" Plumley and one sister, Leota Slagle.

Survivors include two sons, Erick Durham and wife Lynn of Parsonburg, MD and George Garrett and wife Sheri of Hinton, WV; one daughter, Amy O'Brien and husband Bill of Hinton; 12 grandchildren, Tara, Tony and Desiree Wadsworth, Walt Losiewski (Christen), Jessica Haddaway, Danielle Mayers (Aaron), Kristyn Garrett (Robert), George "Buck", Chase, Sage and Abby Garrett, Amanda Durham and special granddaughter, Tiffaney Maynor (Timothy); 9 great grandchildren, Mason and Aiden Garrett, Will St. Clair, Jordan and Derick Haddaway and Kennedy, Lilly and Aspyn Mayers, Queen Durham along with one nephew, Mead Slagle also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday February 23, 2022 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Roy Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park at Low Moor, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
