Brenda Ann Burdette Spade, 62 of Cool Ridge, died Thursday March 15, 2018 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley following a long illness.

Born October 22, 1955 in Hinton, she was the daughter of Jo Ann Vandall Burdette of Sandstone and the late Howard E. Burdette.

Brenda was a 1973 graduate of Hinton High School and a 1978 nursing school graduate of the Community Hospital of Roanoke Valley. Brenda was formerly employed as an R.N. at Summers County Hospital, the Beckley VA Medical Center and also Beckley A.R.H. Hospital. She was a member of the Beckley Women of Moose, and loved the outdoors. She especially enjoyed boating and 4-wheeling. Brenda was of the Baptist faith.

She was precede in death by her father, Howard E. Burdette.

In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband K.L. "Sam" Spade. Two step-daughters, Heather Neve and husband Rodney of Beckley and Beth Spade of Mt. Hope. One sister, Linda Barnett of Sandstone. Four step-grandchildren, Yami Richardson, Jordan Spade, Kaylee Crouch and Evan Reid. Nephews, Austin and Taft Barnett. Several aunts, uncles and cousins and a special "brother", Doug Cooper and wife Vickie also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday March 19 ^th , 2018 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor J.D. Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the Fink Cemetery at Sandstone. Friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
