Calvin Charles Hicks, 95 of Hinton, formerly of Ramp and Forest Hill, died at 12:05 a.m. Monday April 3, 2017 at Main Street Care in Hinton following a long illness.

Born September 8, 1921 at Ramp, he was the son of the late Hobert and Polly Foster Hicks.

Mr. Hicks was a retired carpenter and former coal miner and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Richmond Hicks on November 16, 2013; also by two brothers, Dewey and Herbert Hicks.

Survivors include a son, Gerry Hicks and wife Debbie of Pembroke, VA and a daughter, Linda Kollar and husband Charles of West Jefferson, OH. Three grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday April 5, 2017 at the Hicks-Cyrus Cemetery at Ramp with Pastor Jeff Canterbury officiating. There will be no visitation. A procession will leave Pivont Funeral Home at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday for those wishing to attend the graveside.
