Can Mehmet "Johnny"Crawford, 43 of 108 Union St. Hinton passed away Saturday June 6, 2020 at his home.

Born October 3, 1976 in Hampton, Virginia, he was the son of Sidika Aydemir Crawford of Hinton and the late Roger Crawford.

Johnny was a 1995 graduate of Summers County High School and was a construction worker. He was an avid soccer player growing up and also an avid weight-lifter. Johnny loved his mother, brother and nieces and his family in Turkey dearly and especially Turkish traditions. He was of the Muslim faith and will be missed by his beloved family and friends.

Besides his father, Johnny was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Francis, Sr. and Lillie Mae Crawford and maternal grandparents, Mehmet Can and Cennett Aydenir.

He is survived by his loving mother, Sidika Aydemir Crawford of Hinton; one brother, Orhan Crawford of Tokyo, Japan; half-brother, Roger "Chip" Crawford, Jr. of Hinton; half-sisters, Dawn "Dee Dee" Crawford and Staci Crawford, both of Hinton; uncles, Lt. Col Ret. Francis Crawford, Jr. of Springfield, VA and Robin Crawford and wife Patti of Hinton; several uncles, aunts and cousins also survive.

A private graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday June 13, 2020 at Esquire Cemetery near Hinton with Chaplain Dr. Hassan Jafary officiating. Visitation will be private for the family.
