Carl Leon "Lot" Williams, 64 of Hinton, passed Sunday October 4, 2020 at his home following a lengthy illness.
Born May 10, 1956 in Hinton, he was the son of the late Charles Edward and Marion Hedgeman Williams Gore.
Lot was a graduate of Hinton High School and was a lifelong member of Second Baptist Church of Hinton but was currently attending Lifeline Church and the Ministry Place both in Hinton. Before his illness, he had worked for the Summers County Services Council on Aging and the Summers County Senior Citizens. Lot was also groundskeeper at the Hinton House Apartments for many years. He was known as a "Jack of all Trades". He enjoyed fishing, all types of music, reading and loved the company of his family and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Jerry and Cecil T. Williams; grandmother, Mabel Pauleen Hedgeman.
He is survived by two sisters, Lawana Williams and Christina Gore, both of Hinton; nephews, Jourdain Williams and Derrick Williams, both of Hinton and Eric Williams of Columbus, OH; nieces, Megan Williams of Meadow Bridge and Shayla Williams; sisters-in-law, Vicki Scelp of Washington, DC and Debie Williams of Columbus, OH; numerous great nieces and nephews and cousins; ex-wife, Stephanie Richmond Ratliff.
Graveside commital services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday October 18, 2020 at Esquire Cemetery near Hinton with Rev. Matthew Saunders officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
