Carolyn Sue Hicks Hinkle, 81 of Covington, Virginia formerly of Summers County passed away Friday July 29, 2022 at Lewis-Gale Hospital in Salem, VA following a brief illness.

Born June 29, 1941 at Talcott, WV she was the daughter of the late Woodrow Charles and Kathleen Cales Hicks.

Mrs. Hinkle was the owner and operator of Snip-N-Style Salon in Clifton Forge, VA for 30 years and also a homemaker. She was a member of United Baptist Church of Ogles Creek in Covington, Virginia. She had been a resident of Alleghany County since 1963 and enjoyed painting, cooking and spending time with her beloved family.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Carol Hinkle-Howard; one son, Maxie Wayne Hinkle, Jr. and one brother, Larry Charles Hicks.

Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Maxie Wayne Hinkle, Sr. One daughter, Lesia Ann Wheeler and husband Paul of Covington, VA; four grandchildren, Mathew Ryan Seldomridge (Brittany) of Clifton Forge, VA, Brady Allen Seldomridge of Salem, VA, Cyrus Wade Hinkle (Baylee) of Calhoun, LA and Gracie Elaine Hinkle of Florida; one great granddaughter, Kinsley Mae Seldomridge also survives.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday August 5, 2022 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton, WV with Pastor Gary Tingler officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery at Powleys Creek. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until services time Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be; Mathew and Brady Seldomridge, Cyrus Hinkle, Paul Wheeler, Nathan Allen, R.C. Cole, Albert "Buddy" Seldomridge and Lee Reynolds.
