Charles A. (Chuck) Maxant, 82, of Hinton, passed away on August 2, 2018, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, after a short illness.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, May 21, 1936, he was the son of the late Arthur and Margaret Bucknell Maxant.

He was the owner and operator of the Sew Master and Hinton Manufacturing Co, of Hinton.

He was a devoted member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Hinton, and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family and working on sewing machines.

Those left to cherish his memory are his former wife, Florence Maxant, of Goose Creek, SC, two sons Michael Maxant of Barboursville, WV, and Keith Maxant of Springhold, FL, two daughters, Kimberly Bowman, of Tallahassee, FL, and Tamara Masters and husband Joseph, of Goose Creek, SC.  One brother, Robert Maxant, of Phoenix, AZ, and one sister Karen Ocepa, of Howell, NJ, and eleven grandchildren also survive.

A Mass of Christian Burial, will be held Tuesday, at 11:00 a.m., August 7, 2018, at  St. Patrick Catholic Church, in Hinton, with Father Rey Landicho as celebrant. Rite of commital will follow at Restwood Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.  Friends may call at Pivont Funeral Home, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 6, 2018, and a Rosary Service will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
