Charles Jesse Redden, 79 of Jumping Branch, died Wednesday July 6, 2016 at VCU Medical Center in Richmond following short illness.
Born March 28, 1937 at Elton, WV he was the son of the late Royal and Evelyn Peters Redden.
Mr. Redden was retired from Vecelio and Grogan Corporation in Beckley, having worked as a drill and blast foreman. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a member of the Hinton Church of Christ. He was a lifelong resident of Summers County and enjoyed farming and hunting as long as his health permitted.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Redden.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Wilma Lane Redden. One son, Randy Redden and wife Debbie of Lewisburg; one daughter, Cathy Angell and husband Zina of Jumping Branch; one brother, Sidney Redden and wife Mary of Tennessee; two sisters, Betty Richmond of Sandstone and Ada Bradley of Newark, DE; two grandchildren, Anthony Redden and wife Kelly of Lewisburg and Jason Angell of Nimitz; two great grandchildren, Carter and Reece Redden also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday July 10, 2016 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Minister Walter Dekle officiating. Burial will follow in Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until time of services on Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be; Anthony Redden, Jason Angell, Dennis and Dean Bragg, and Bryan and Dale Shortridge. Honorary pallbearers will be; Zina Angell, Mike Miller and Bob Thompson.
