Clista Aveline Lester, 75 of Jumping Branch, passed away Tuesday August 6, 2019 at Raleigh General Hospital following a brief illness.

Born March 29, 1944 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Lyle H. and Edith Lane.

Clista was a graduate of Hinton High School and was a former employee of F&R Supply Company in Hinton, Summers County Hospital and also Bluestone State Park. She was a member of Bluestone Baptist Church at Jumping Branch and the Jumping Branch Senior Citizens. Clista especially loved flower gardening and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, James and William Lane and 1 sister, Betty Lane Richmond.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jack Lester. One son, David Lester and wife Vicki of Pipestem. Two daughters, Debbie Bradberry and companion Bobby Buchanan of Peterstown, WV and Kelly Frazier and husband Eric of Goose Creek, SC. Two brothers, Charles Lane of Jumping Branch and John Lane and wife Beth of Ohio. Three sisters, Imogene Hamrick of Shady Spring, Sue Lane of Arizona and Peggy Lane Neff and husband Jerry of Ohio. 17 grandchildren; Emily Bradberry, Stephen Bonds, Candi Pack, Maddie Lester, Haley Frazier, David Allen Lester, Abbie Jo Lester, Chloe Lester, Tucker Frazier, Gracie Lester, Landon Lester, Sadie Lester, Eli Frazier, Lanie Lester, Eislee Lester, Hadley Lester and Ellie Kate Frazier also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday August 11, 2019 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Josh Winkler officiating. Burial will follow in the Simmons Cemetery at Mt. View. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
