Connie Devonne Burnett, 66 of Forest Hill, died at 10:36 a.m. Wednesday September 25, 2019 at Raleigh General Hospital following a long illness.

Born October 6, 1952 at Sandstone, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Willa Richmond Burnett.

Connie was a graduate of Sandstone High School and was a former correctional officer at the WV State Prison for Women at Pence Springs. She was of the Baptist faith and was the primary and devoted  caregiver for her mother and two brothers and especially loved being a grandmother to Noah.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry, Jimmy and Robert Burnett.

Survivors include a son, Scott Burnett & wife Charlotte of Big Creek. Two sisters, Donna Sue Wolfe & husband Seldon of Covington, VA and Floretta Terry & husband Bruce of Chesapeake, OH. One grandson, Noah Burnett. Several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Rachel Terry.

A celebration of life service for Connie will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday October 6th, 2019 at the Sandstone Volunteer Fire Department at Sandstone. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish.
