Constance Rey Tolbert, 67 of 204 Ewart St. Hinton, died at 2:57 p.m. Sunday February 28, 2016 at her home following a long illness.

Born February 14, 1949 at Shady Spring, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Carl, Sr. & Geraldine L. Marshall Grant.

Ms. Tolbert was a retired cook for Bellepoint School in Hinton and Pipestem State Park. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing with her companion Donald Bennett of Madams Creek. She enjoyed bingo and was known to many as "Mom" in Summers County.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Robert Grant.

Survivors include her former husband, Paul Tolbert, three sons, Charlie Merriam & wife Julie of Pearisburg, VA and their three children, Ron Tolbert & Meme Owen of Hinton and their three children and Robert "Red" Tolbert of Hinton, three daughters, Laura Grant Richmond & husband Phillip and their child and son-in-law, Andy Keen of Dunlap, TN, Jerri "J.J." Richmond & husband Steve and their three children of Lindside and Carla Merriam and her two children of Hinton. Two brothers, Lewis C. "Snooks" Grant of Hinton and Jerry Dean Grant of Missouri and one sister, Kat "Penny" Grant of Vero Beach, FL. Three great grandchildren also survive.

In her way of giving to others, Connie has requested her body be donated to the Human Gift Registry at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
