Curtis E. Adkins, Jr. 54 of Hinton, died Thursday September 2, 2021 at his home following a brief illness.

Born September 19, 1966 in Hinton he was the son of Elizabeth Terry of Hinton and the late Curtis E. Adkins, Sr.

Curtis was employed by Asplundh Tree Corporation. He loved to fish, camp, 4-wheeling and collecting old "treasures". Curtis especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a special love and joy for all children and was thought of as Uncle Curtie by many. He was truly loved and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Adkins; two brothers, David Lee Terry and Criss F. Kellar and also by a step-son, Johnathan Cook.

Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Terry of Hinton; two daughters, Shana Marie Adkins and Kendall Rose Brown, both of Hinton; two brothers, Roy L. Adkins and Ronnie R. Adkins and companion Angie, both of Hinton; three sisters, Carletta Williams and husband James Alan, Teresa Kellar and Mona Lisa Gill and husband Billy, all of Hinton; brother by choice, Calvin Foster and wife Lynn of Hinton; three grandchildren, Chloe, Trinity and Grayson Lammon along with numerous nephews, nieces, aunts and cousins whom he loved dearly.

Cremation services are being provided by Pivont Funeral Home and a memorial service will be announced for Curtis at a later date.
