Daniel Ray Crawford, 62 of Barren Springs, Virginia formerly of Summers County died Sunday December 27, 2015 at his home following a long illness.

Born December 3, 1953 in Hinton, he was the son of the late O'Dell and Phyllis J. Yancey Crawford.

Danny was retired from the United States Army with 20 years of service. After retirement, he was employed by Turner Construction Company in Hinton and after moving to Virginia, he was employed by TMD Friction Company in Dublin, Virginia. He was a member of the Delton Church of God of Prophecy in Pulaski County. Danny enjoyed fishing and gardening and will be missed by his family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Crawford.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lois Clark Crawford. Two step-sons, James "Andy" Gravley and Ronald "Dale" Gravely, both of Barren Springs, VA. One brothers, Terry Crawford & wife Debbie of Marie, WV and one sister, Tammy Lyall & husband Gary ofPence Springs, WV. Three grandchildren, William "Drew" Gravely, James Gravely and Jada Adams.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday December 31, 2015 at the Clark Family Cemetery at Barren Springs, Virginia with Pastor Betty Clark officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Pivont Funeral Home in Hinton, WV. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday.
