Daniel Dean Richmond, 84 of Graham, NC, formerly of Hinton passed away Saturday August 27, 2022 at the VA Medical Center in Durham, NC following a short illness.

Born March 31, 1938 at Skelton, WV he was the son of the late Robert Thomas and Lorene Neely Richmond.

Dean was a 1956 graduate of Hinton High School and was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired Prudential and Nationwide insurance agent. Dean enjoyed bowling and fishing and was of the Baptist faith.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Danny Richmond, one brother, Douglas Richmond and three sisters, Yvonne Keaton, Jeanette Meadows and Jacqueline Richmond.

Survivors include his wife, Adela Blasco Richmond; two daughters, Sara Walls (Margaux Simon) of Mebane, NC and Robin Sturgill (Bryan) of Burlington, NC; step-son, David Bravo (Shannon) of Ft. Worth, TX; one brother, Darrell Richmond (Willie) of Tampa, FL; two sisters, Dreama Edwards of Hinton and Janet Via of San Antonio, TX; four grandchildren; Nathanial and Aria Walls, Emily Morgan and Rebecca Cox; five great grandchildren, Levi and Mackenzie Morgan, Silas Graham Morgan and Hazel and Naomi Cox.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday August 31, 2022 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Ronald Cobb officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
