Danny J. Smith, 75 of Pipestem, passed away Saturday February 11, 2023 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley following a long illness.

Born November 16, 1947 in Hinton, he was the son of the late John and Corrine Bryson Smith.

Danny was a retired Deputy Sheriff for St. Lucie County, Florida.  He was a member of Pipestem Southern Baptist Church and enjoyed deer hunting and loved watching television.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Gore.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Roberta Stewart Smith; one daughter, Kimberly Hoff and husband Marcos of Palm Bay, FL; two grandchildren, Madelyn Hoff and friend Bryan Kelley and Jason Hoff.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday February 14, 2023 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Roy Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
