Darlene Elaine Lane, 74 of Hix died Saturday September 4, 2021 at her home following a long illness.

Born September 19, 1946 in Jacksonville, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Fred P. and Mildred Burns Jones.

Mrs. Lane owned and operated a retail shop in Fernandina Beach, Florida for many years and retired to the mountains of West Virginia. She loved the scenery and tranquility of her home and especially loved tending her flower gardens.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wesley and Wayne Jones.

Survivors include her loving husband, Paul Lane. One son, Daniel Lane of Middleburg, FL and three daughters, Tanya Mickel of Hix, Lavonne Phelan of Yulee, FL and Tressa Macklin of Newman, IL. Six grandchildren also survive.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday September 8, 2021 at the Gillian Cemetery at Hix with Bart Johnson officiating. There will be no visitation. Those wishing to attend the services are asked to meet at the cemetery.
