Darrell C. Latham, 79, of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, in Princeton, following a long illness.

Born January 26, 1943, in Troy, North Carolina, he was the son of the late James Edward and Mary Odessa Hogan Latham.

Darrell served in the United States Army in the 101st Airborne Division.  He was employed in the transportation industry, and also a former factory worker, and he enjoyed wood working and fishing in his spare time.  He loved his dog, Joycee.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Bragg; one infant sister and one brother, Dallas Latham.

Survivors include a step-daughter, Barbara Parker and husband Edd, of Franklin, West Virginia, and his special friend and caregiver, Barbara Workman, of Princeton. Three sisters, Nonnie Maness of Biscoe, NC, Diane Callicutt of Candor, NC and Margaret Burr of Troy, NC; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Restwood Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Roy Carter officiating.  Friends may call from 12:00 p.m, until 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, at Pivont Funeral Home.
