David Allen Bowles, 67 of Sandstone passed away Tuesday June 14, 2016 at his home after a sudden illness.

Born September 10, 1948 at Sandstone, he was the son of the late Earl Bowles, Sr. and Ruth Kirk Bowles.

David was a self-employed timberman and farmer. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed Bluegrass music and being with family and friends. He was a lifelong resident of Sandstone.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Steven Bowles.

Survivors include two brothers, Earl Bowles, Jr. and Hollis Bowles, both of Sandstone; one nephew, Dewayne Bowles and two great nephews, Zane and Avery Bowles.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday June 17, 2016 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Keith Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowles Family Cemetery at Sandstone. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be; Rod Forren, Roger Gwinn, Kevin Gunter, Keith Mills and Tim Grimmett.
