Obituary

David Lee Huffman, 82, of Talcott ,WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 23 rd , 2022, at home, surrounded by close family, following a short illness.

Born March 15 th , 1940 in Hinton, he was the son of the late Leonidas J. & Mary G. Huffman. He graduated from Hinton High School in 1958.  After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1959 to 1963, and was honorably discharged as an ET-2 (Electronics Technician 2 nd Class).

After his naval service, he found his way to his chosen craft of land surveying. He established his own business in 1969. He was officially licensed in 1971 as Licensed Land Surveyor number 253. This was his primary profession for over 40 years, and a great source of pride for him.

He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter for most of his life. His time spent with family and friends hunting and being outdoors, were some of his most cherished.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bud Huffman, and two sisters, Jean Brender & Barbara Huffman.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 53 years, Linda J. Huffman, of Talcott; a daughter, Beverly Huffman, of Talcott; and 3 sons, Jeffrey Huffman of Piney View, WV, Patrick Huffman of Hilldale, WV and Marcus Huffman of Buckeye, AZ. Numerous and loved nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a sister, Sue Leitch of Clifton Forge and a brother L.J. Huffman & wife Becky of St. Augustine, FL.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday July 1 st 2022 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton, with Bishop Fred Sims and Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Burial Park in Hinton. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be; Dave Staley, Mike and Andre Mann, Steve and Thumper Leitch, and Jason Persinger. Honorary pallbearers will be; Alfred Wykle, Steve Meadows, Joe and Lin Goins, and Don DeWitt.
