David Franklin Keaton, 83, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Main Street Care in Hinton, WV following a long illness.

Born on February 14, 1941, he was the son of the late Carlean Keaton and Faye Cook Keaton.

David was a lifelong resident of Hinton, WV and thoroughly appreciated his beautiful mountain state. He enjoyed gardening and tending his livestock and was a keen outdoorsman.  His greatest joy was spending time with his family.  David was a dedicated employee at Pipestem Resort State Park for 31 years. His family recalls the time the area was hit by a blizzard, and he walked to work all the way from River Ridge.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Catherine Meador Keaton; daughter, Rainelle Bennett; grandson, Trey Bennett.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Linda Meadows and companion Joseph Blasingame of Powleys Creek, WV; brothers, Aubrey and Jimmy Keaton of Pipestem, WV; nieces, Mary Cole and husband Denten of Pipestem, WV and Kitty McBride and husband Jay of Hinton, WV; grandchildren, Terra Bennett and companion Justin Turner of Lerona, WV,  Tucker Bennett and wife Haley of Morgantown, WV, Alley Meador and companion Brady Petrey of Pipestem, WV, Jacob Meador and fiancé Lexi Raye of Pipestem, WV,  Nathan Meador of Hinton, WV and Levi Meadows of Powleys Creek, WV; great grandchildren, Braxton and Corbin Lambert of Lerona, WV and Bentley Edward Petrey of Pipestem, WV.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Eddie Via officiating.  Friends may visit from 3:00 pm until the time of service on Friday. Cremation services will be provided following the service.
