Obituary

Davie L. "Buckshot" Madison, 74 of Hinton passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at CAMC Memorial in Charleston following a sudden illness.

Davie was born in Hinton January 9, 1947.  He was the son of the late William "Red" and Mamie Lilly Buckland.

He was a retired inspector for the WV Department of Highways with 44 years of service.  He was a 1965 graduate of Hinton High school and attended Fairmont state college.  He was currently employed as a code enforcement officer for the city of Hinton.  He was a member of the Summers County solid waste authority, a member of the Hinton Rotary Club, coached a Hinton Little League team for many years, and officiated grade school and middle school basketball games.  He was a former member of the Hinton fire department and a 50-year member of the Hinton Masonic Lodge.  He is a member of the Hinton Police Department Service Board and attended Miller Memorial Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife Romanda Berry Madison.  One sister Nellie Robertson, and husband Dennis of Hinton.  His mother in-law Carmen Berry of Hinton, and a Cousin Mary Palmer of Lowell. One niece Kimberly Foster and husband Gary, nephew Nickalous Robertson and wife Robin, and a great-nephew Blake Robertson.  Extended family include Jackie and Keisha Gill and Madison and Levi Gill.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday on July 26, 2021 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel with pastors John Sauvage and Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday July 25, 2021.

Hinton Masonic Lodge will serve as pallbearers and have Graveside rights.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Blankenship, Mike Gore, Larry Meador, Jackie Gill, Gary Wheeler, Levi Gill, Pat Jordan, David Fox, Chris Meadows, Nathan Allen, T.J Cockhran, John Farmer, and Tom Conway.
