Deanna Lee Reed, 77, of Kernersville, North Carolina, formerly of Summers County, passed away Monday, January 20, 2020 in Greensboro, North Carolina following a long illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Robert C. "Bigen" Reed, and two brothers, John Hawley and Edward Merrill.

Born December 15, 1942 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Arnice and Lawrence Merrill, and James Blankenship.

Survivors include her three sons; Rob Reed and Sheila Ayers and Scott and Melonie Reed of Kernersville NC, and Chris and Bonnie Reed, of Liberty NC.  Four siblings: Lawrence Merrill, Jr. and Martha of Hinton, Marilyn Merrill of Greensboro NC, Melanie and Doug Grimmett of Hinton, and Bob Blankenship of Akron, Ohio.  Six grandchildren, one of whom she raised (Kelly), and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Pivont Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2020 in Hinton, West Virginia with Pastor Andy Howdock officiating. Burial and graveside rites will follow in the Elk Knob Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
