Denver Dwayne Godbey, 51 of Rich Creek, VA died Monday June 28, 2021 at his home.

Born February 15, 1970 in Hinton, he was the son of Elaine DePuy Godbey of Jumping Branch and the late Ansell Godbey.

Dwayne was a 1989 graduate of Hinton High School. He was a transport driver for Osmose Corporation and had formerly worked for many years as a mechanic at Slurry Pavers. He loved working on cars in his spare time and spending time with his family and friends. Dwayne loved his dogs, especially his "Molly" and also his cats. Dwayne loved to make people laugh and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ansell Godbey.

Besides his mother, survivors include his wife, Kathy Yancey Godbey; two sons, Justin Godbey of Beaver and Trevor Godbey of King, NC; one daughter, Briyonna Godbey of King, NC; 3 step-children, Kaylee Stump and Kami and Paizlie Lovern; four sisters, Greta Godbey Brown of Jumping Branch, Bonnie Godbey Ward of Hilldale, Cecelia Godbey of Jumping Branch and Reba Godbey of Tennessee; two grandchildren, Cayden and Kenzie, both of Indian Valley, VA.

The family has honored Dwayne's request for cremation. A private service will be held for family with burial at a later date in Fox Cemetery at Brooks, WV.
