Denver M. Turner, 77 of Hinton, West Virginia passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on December 5, 2025.

He was born on January 11, 1948, in Summers County, a son of the late Edgar Guy and Irene Daisy Saunders Turner. In addition to his parents, Denver was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin and Tommy Turner.

Denver served in the West Virginia National Guard from 1967-1977. He worked for the CSX Transportation Corporation for 36 years, retiring in 2010. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his boys and was an avid West Virginia University football fan.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ramona Cook Turner. Sons, Marlin (Cynthia L.) of Bedford, VA, Lanar (Vickie) of Rural Retreat, VA, Shannon (Ashley) of Lewisburg, WV and Brandon of Hinton, WV. His cherished grandchildren, Austin, Chandler, Haley, Hannah, Bradley, Branson, Tewon, Tiana, Tempyss and Savannah along with several great grandchildren; Denver is also survived by a sister, Hilda Turner of Hinton, WV and brothers, Edgar Turner of Hinton, WV, Harry Turner of Hinton, WV and Kenneth Turner of Jumping Branch, WV.

Denver's love, strength and steady presence will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday December 10, 2025, at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Randy Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Roles Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.
