Dixie Lee Powell, 81 of Jumping Branch, passed away Tuesday November 22, 2022 at her home following a short illness.

Born April 5, 1941 in Ury, WV she was the daughter of the late Howard E. and Sue Smith Milam.

Ms. Powell was an honors graduate of Mark Twain High School class of 1959. She was a homemaker  and enjoyed cleaning, decorating gardening and cooking. She had been a resident of Jumping Branch since 1990.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William David Powell; one daughter, Diedre Powell; two brothers, William L. Grose and Delmar J. Milam and a son-in-law, Lawrence "Bud" Kincaid.

Survivors include two daughters, Trina Darlene Powell of Jumping Branch and Penny K. Powell-Kincaid of Ury, WV; one brother, Scotty Lewis Milam and wife Brenda of Helen, WV; one sister, Margaret T. Mosher of Beckley; several nieces, nephews and cousins survive along with a cherished family friend, Agatha Riddle of Beckley.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday November 29, 2022 at Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pivont Funeral Home in Hinton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
