Donna Marie Sandusky Smith, 69 of Hilldale, passed away Sunday December 8, 2019 at Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness.

Born October 1, 1950 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Alice Marie Ferris Sandusky.

Ms. Smith was a former clerk of court in North Carolina and had been a resident of West Virginia for a short time, moving here with her daughter.

Her love for her caregivers, Olivia Vickers and the entire staff at Summers Nursing will be remembered through her beautiful smile.

She was a very loving woman who never knew a stranger.  Donna loved art, music,  animals, antiques, and most of all her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wayne Smith.

Survivors include her daughter, Angela Trusler of Charleston, WV and a son, Buddy West of Stedman, NC; three brothers, Bill, Jimmy and Buddy Hudson, all of Sanford, NC; two sisters, Joanne Arnold and Kathy Downing, both of Sanford, NC; two grandchildren, Abigail MarieTrusler and Morgan Ashley Smith and one great grandson, Brantley Taylor also survives.

Cremation services have been provided by Pivont Funeral Home and there will be no public services at this time.
