It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Dorothy Fern (Dottie) Lilly Mock, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the age of 94.

Dottie was born on January 12, 1932, in Hinton, West Virginia. Her journey through life was marked by love, kindness, and dedication to God, family, friends, and work.

A longtime resident of the Loxahatchee Groves community, Dottie was a devoted and hardworking schoolteacher. She held a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and earned her master’s degree from Florida Atlantic University. She taught elementary and junior high students in Lucasville, Ohio until 1964. At that time, she moved to the West Palm Beach area and taught at Meadow Park Elementary. She also served as a writer and editor of elementary curriculum for the Palm Beach County School District. By presenting core values and positive lessons, Dottie touched the lives of many students through the years.

Dottie will be remembered for her love and commitment to Jesus. She was a member of the Community of Hope Church in Loxahatchee where she volunteered for many years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.

Dottie is preceded in death by her beloved Charles William “Bill” Mock, Sr.; is survived by her children Alice Faye (Michael) McKillips, Charles William "Chuck" (Sondra) Mock, Jr., Susan Jane Dean, Dee Dee Anita Mock, Keith Edward "Eddie" (the late Ruth) Mock; 8 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother William Ray "Bill" (the late Ann) Lilly and sister Retha Mae (the late Ray) Farley; preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Ray Lilly and Cora Alice Lilly; her brother and sisters, Zane Elsworth (Etta) Lilly; Elizabeth Iris "Betty" (Clyde) Moye, Margaret Susan "Peggy" (Daniel) Keaton; Cora Josephine "Josie" Lilly; as well as many nephews and nieces.

All saw her as the core strength of the family unit. Dottie loved to laugh and dance and will be long remembered for her spunkiness and beautiful smile. Her children and family members will dearly miss her but find comfort knowing she is in God’s arms when she is not dancing with the angels.

Crypt side services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at the Greenbrier Burial Park Mausoleum with Pastor Ronald Cobb officiating. Friends may visit from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday.
