Dreama Gay Spangler, 59 of True, WV passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024.

Born on February 16,1965 in Roanoke, VA, she was the daughter of Delores Hill Abshire Owen of Lerona, WV and the late James E. Abshire.

Dreama cherished her memories growing up around her Mamaw Zona and Papaw Archie Hill's home with her sisters and several special cousins in Lerona, WV. She attended Athens High School and later Bluefield State where she completed coursework toward an RN degree, but decided instead to pursue a Bachelors of Education at Concord College where she graduated in 1991. She loved her few years teaching in the Summers County Head Start program.  The years Dreama spent with her loving husband Timmy and 3 children on their farm at True WV was a treasure. Timmy and Dreama together enjoyed singing in church and with their special friends. Dreama was a talented piano player helping with worship at both Lerona United Methodist Church where she grew up and attended and James Chapel Methodist Church where she was a member over the years. In addition to being a talented piano player, Dreama enjoyed writing her own poetry and reading. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children Jacob, Jessie and Woody, grandchildren Hallie and Ethan, and all her loved ones. She loved sharing Bible verses and special quotes on Facebook and sharing pictures of her loved ones. While she suffered many losses and trials, Dreama loved the Lord Jesus Christ and appreciated his mercy, grace and many blessings.

Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy Spangler; son, Woodrow Gabriel "Woody" Spangler; step-father, Danny Owen.

In addition to her mother Delores Owen, those left to cherish her memory include her mother-in-law, Betty Ellison of True, WV; son, Jacob Spangler and daughter, Jessie Rodes (Joe), both of True, WV; special friend, Ronnie McBride of Pipestem, WV; sisters, Terri Abshire of Myrtle Beach, SC and Tammy Scarbrough (David) of Beckley, WV; grandchildren, Hallie Rodes of True, WV and Ethan Rodes of Ft. Moore, GA; step- mother Linda Abshire of Bolt,  WV and many special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at Lerona United Methodist Church in Lerona, WV with Pastor Jay Bunting officiating.  Friends may visit from 12:00 pm until the time of the service on Wednesday at the Church.  Burial will follow at the Spangler Cemetery at True, WV.
