Obituary

Eagle Cricket Adkins, 80 of Pipestem, passed away at 10:35 a.m. Friday October 26, 2018 at Bowers Hospice House following a short illness.

Born April 17, 1938 at Longbottom, WV he was the son of the late Dewey and Beulah Adkins.

Mr. Adkins was a retired truck driver for the coal industry. He attended Pipestem Southern Baptist Church and was a 50 year member of the Concord Lodge AF&AM. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dewey Adkins.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara Hogan Adkins. One daughter, Teresa Adkins Pettrey and husband Samuel if Athens, WV. One sister, Victoria Adkins of Narrows, VA. One grandson, Robbie Neely and wife Joni of Athens, WV and one great granddaughter, Madison Neely. A sister-in-law, Geraldine Edwards of True.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday October 30, 2018 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastors Roy Carter and David Damewood officiating. Burial will follow in the Neely Cemetery at Surveyors Branch. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be; Jimmy Blankenship, Dave Mounts, Robbie Neely, Ray Farley, Kenny Stennet and Larry Phillips.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia; PO Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25802.
