Obituary

Elizabeth Ellen Bigony Cooper, 67 of 209 Central Ave. Hinton, passed away Sunday February 9, 2020 at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston following an extended illness.

Born August 20, 1952 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph C. and Jewell McNeer Bigony.

Ellen was a 1970 graduate of Hinton High School, attended Concord College, West Virginia University, and obtained her degree as a Register Nurse from WV Tech.  Ellen always had a passion for dance, enjoyed reading, loved WVU football, and most all she adored her grandchildren, and loved spending time with her family and friends. She always said "Hinton is my home".  Ellen attended the Episcopal Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Winner.

Survivors include her husband, Jack Cooper. One son, Joedy Meadows and wife Kristin of Culpepper, VA; one daughter, Leslie Schlemmer and husband Todd of Lancaster, PA; two step-sons, Drew Winner and wife Stephanie of Maricopa, AZ and Jason Cooper of Milwaukee, WI; one step-daughter, Jaime Cooper of Milwaukee, WI; five grandchildren, Jacob, Brynley and Aly Meadows and Madelyn and Trenton Schlemmer; three step-grandchilden, Trey Winner and Serenity and Zea Cooper.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday February 15, 2020 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton, with Pastor Butch Honaker officiating.  Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
