Esther "Cathy" Catherine Norwood, age 69, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Summers Healthcare Center surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 26, 1955 in Hinton, WV, she was the daughter of the late George Alfred and Patsy Ann Williams Gillian.

Cathy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She worked at Princeton community Hospital for 21 years as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.  Cathy attended Rich Creek Baptist Church in Spanishburg, WV.  She loved her Lord deeply and dedicated her life to being a witness for Jesus to everyone she encountered. Some of her spare time was spent working in her beautiful flower garden. Her most special times and greatest joy was being with her family, especially her children and grandchildren; she will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 50 years, Dennis L. Norwood; sons, Dennis Allen Norwood of Randleman, NC and Christopher Lee Norwood of Princeton, WV; brother, John A. Gillian and wife Valerie of Lerona, WV; sister, Rebecca Ann Gillian of Princeton, WV.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, April 4, 2025 at Rich Creek Baptist Church in Spanishburg, WV with Pastors Jamie Maddox and Ryan Meadows officiating.  Burial will follow at the Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Princeton, WV.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Church on Friday.
