Eugene Smallwood, 70 of Chesterfield, Virginia died Saturday, August 31, 2019 following a long illness.

Born September 2, 1948 in Kentucky, he was the son of the late James and Alpha Smallwood.

Mr. Smallwood was retired.  He worked as a supervisor in the manufacturing industry for many years.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and bluegrass music.  He was also a member of the Woodpecker Band.

He was preceded in death by his brother Ted Smallwood and twin step grandsons Justin Wayne and Austin Tyler Berry.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, of 29 years.  They were married in Chesterfield on August 2, 1990.  His brother Marvin Smallwood of Ohio.  Two sons Anthony Smallwood, wife Trish of Ohio and Jason Smallwood.  A daughter Ladonna Onan, husband Allen, of Ohio.  A stepdaughter, Melissa Morris, husband Robert of Virginia.  Five grandchildren, Tiffany and Wyatt Smallwood, Kyle and Ethan Farison and Jakob Hayman.   Two step grandchildren Adam and Megan Morris.  Special friends John, Janet, Nadene and Natily.

Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday September 7 ^th , 2019 at Upland Cemetery with Pastor Benny Allen officiating. Friends may call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Pivont Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Smallwood, Robert and Adam Morris, John Gibbs, J.R. and Levi Gill, Jamy, Jarrod and Jordan Ballard and Eric Hicks.
