Franklin Terell Bailey, Sr., 80 of Hilldale, died Tuesday August 16, 2016 at his home following a short illness.
Born June 29, 1936 in Hinton, he was the son of the late William Edward and Frances Hazel Bailey.
Mr. Bailey was a graduate of Hinton High School, earning All-State honors in basketball his senior year and was offered a scholarship to Glenville State College. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard with 23 years of service. He was retired from Pinecrest Hospital in Beckley and was a founder of Shoe String TV Cable System at Hilldale. He was a member of the Hinton Masonic Lodge #62 and the Order of Eastern Star. Frank was an avid coin collector for many years.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Earl Bailey, two great grandchildren, Mariah and Elijah Bautista, along with three brothers, Bobby Jack, Tommy Joe and Edward Thurston Bailey and a sister, Nina Mae Owens.
Survivors include two sons, Franklin Terrell Bailey, Jr. of Birmingham, AL and Larry Michael Bailey of Minot, ND; one daughter, Frances Huffman and companion Ronnie Wright of Pence Springs; his companion, Rosa Kast of Alderson, WV; six grandchildren, Larry Michael Bailey, Jr., Michael Joseph Bailey, Frankie Hope Bautista & husband Bryan, and Brian, Dustin and Derrick Huffman; three great grandchildren, Alyssa and Jo Keplin Bailey and Siniah Bautista along with several nieces and nephews.
Masonic graveside rites with full military honors will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday August 20, 2016 at Greenbrier Burial Park in Hinton. Burial will follow the graveside service. There will be no visitation. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery on Saturday.
