Garnet Marie Cooper, 96 of Nimitz, passed away Sat. June 6, 2020 at the Rockin Chair at Lerona, WV.

Born December 22, 1923 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Kirby Nathan and Bertha Hogan Lane.

Garnet was a graduate of Hinton High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Nimitz Missionary Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. "Buster" Cooper and three sisters, Norma June Richards, Rowena Tassos and Shirley Boland.

Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Beverly Jordan and husband Pat of Hinton; two grandsons, Patrick Jordan and wife Kim and Charlie Jordan and wife Becky; great grandchildren, Sidney, Clay, Jenna, Jake and Jett Jordan; sisters-in-law, including her special close friend, Margie Mock of Hinton, Mattie Jean Cooper of Pipestem and Janie Cooper of Nimitz; brother-in-law, Jimmy Tassos of Nimitz. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday June 9, 2020 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastors Wayne Bolen and Don Hannah officiating. Burial will follow in Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
