Gary Wayne Keaton, age 58 of Hinton, passed away at his home following a short illness on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

Born November 8, 1964, he was the son of Mildred Bennett and the late Dewey G. Keaton.

He enjoyed watching football and cheering on the Pittsburg Steelers.  He was also a big Nascar and wrestling fan.  His last job, and most important to him, was taking care of his mother.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Wilma Angell, Shorty Bennett, Debbie Grimmett, and Bobby Bennett.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Mildred Bennett of Hinton; sister Connie Keaton Ward and husband Timmy of Hinton; daughter Amber Yancey of Hinton; granddaughter Haven Yancey; ex-wife that was his best friend and soulmate Carolyn Breen Keaton; special nephew Kasper Bennett; several nieces and nephews; special friend Susie Smith who helped him take care of his mom.

Funeral services for Gary will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Bobby Reed officiating.  Burial will follow in the Breen Cemetery at Tug Creek.  Friends may call from 1:00 pm until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pall bearers will be Timmy Ward, Billy Dan Gill, Les Berry, Danny Fitzpatrick, and Steven Brown. Honorary pall bearer will be Jack Harvey.

In his mother's words, "Not only did I lose my son, I lost my best friend."
