Glenna Frances Boone, 95 of Stanardsville, VA formerly of Hilldale, passed away Thursday February 11, 2021 in Stanardsville.

Glenna was born June 12, 1925 at Lowell, a daughter of the late Esten and Beulah Naugle Mann. After graduating from Talcott High School in 1942, she moved to Massachusetts and then to Maryland in 1944 where she worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" making airplane gears and gun turrets for ERCO AIR for the war effort.  In 1945 she married John Oscar Boone, her husband of 57 years.  They raised two daughters, Donna and Sandy.

Glenna loved life and staying busy.  She loved her flowers, gardening, canning, sewing, travel, and of course getting her summer suntan! Whether she was sitting by the pool at Willow Wood, or her many trips to Myrtle Beach, SC, it was a relaxing time for Glenna.  Her stories of her travels to Utah and Colorado were so entertaining.  She so enjoyed her trips to Hawaii and Europe with her daughters.  Glenna loved her family!  The countless fun weekends spent with them at her home in Hilldale, or at "The Camp" in Barger Springs.  These were special memories for her and her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  Her friends from Mt Pisgah Methodist Church were her second family.  Thanks to all of you for continually being there for Glenna/Frankie.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Topping, Sandy Heider and husband Dave, four grandchildren; Kelli Topping Holland and husband Jim, Jarrod Topping, Jamie Spence and wife Nikki, Kerri Spence Heilman and husband Chris, nine great grandchildren; Cody Ratcliff, Rivers, Remy, and Jameson Spence, Drew, Evan, Miranda, and Matthew Heilman, and Haley Holland.  We would like to send a special thank you to the Renaissance Assisted Living staff for providing excellent care for Glenna.  This past year was so difficult for families but you were there for her every day.  We would also like to thank Tina Rutt and Heartland Hospice for their support.

There will be a private graveside service at Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church Cemetery with no visitation.  A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
