Glenna Mae
Meadows
Nov 18, 1929 — Aug 15, 2016
On August 15th, 2016 at 7:05 p.m., Glenna Mae Meadows left her earthly home to go to her heavenly home.
Glenna was the daughter of the late Oscar and Ella Ballard Foster, and was born on November 18, 1929 at Junta, WV. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Glenna is survived by one daughter, Bertie Grubb and husband Bruce of Hilldale, a sister-in-law, Sarah Foster Meadows along with nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas J. Meadows on August 1, 1976 and brothers, Charles, Onsce and Myrl Foster and sisters, Norene and Genevieve.
Glenna lived at Little Wolf Creek for most of her life. For the past several years, she resided at Summers Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at Hilldale. In her earlier years she enjoyed gardening, canning and was a homemaker. She also enjoyed jigsaw and cross word puzzles while her health permitted. She had a large extended family which included all the staff at the nursing home and fellow residents, which voted her Valentine Queen for two consecutive years. She was loved by all staff, past and present.
Glenna also had a special place in her heart for Rhonda Harrah and her family, loving Rhonda like a daughter. Nephew, Emory Meadows was like a grandson to her, Nathaniel Harrah and Robert Kesler as well.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday September 3, 2016 at the Huffman Cemetery at Little Wolf Creek with Pastor Roger Persinger officiating. Friends may join with the family from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at the cemetery. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at Little Wolf Creek Baptist Church.
