Goldie "Faye" Farley, 94 of True, WV passed from this life into the arms of her Saviour surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday January 5, 2016 at her home following a short illness.

She was born on May 23, 1921 in Freeman, West Virginia, the daughter of the late John Charles Lowe and Nellie Laroy Shrewsbury Lowe and step-father, Basil Lindo Shrewsbury.

Faye was a member of Cooks Chapel Baptist Church at Pipestem and was a founding member of their Missionary Quilting Circle. As a young person, she accompanied her mother who was a mid-wife and helped local families bring babies into this world. She carried on this tradition of helping, by always helping others, whether it was sitting with a dying person or giving advice to a young couple. Faye, along with her late husband, was known on the mountain' to always be willing to step in and help local children. Her pride and joy was her family and her home.

Faye was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy Farley, and two grandsons, Lee Phillips and Christopher Huffman. Also by two brothers, Edward and Franklin G. Lowe and four sisters, Margaret Willey, Mae Edwards, Mary Gertrude Burdette and Betty Jean Lowe.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Patty Farley of Pipestem, WV, Glenna Colanero of Monongah, WV and Nita Phillips and husband Donald of Lerona, WV. Seven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, nine great, great grandchildren, which were her pride and joy, her niece, Genevieve Lucas of Radford, VA, who was like a sister, her sister-in-law, Hattie Lowe of Lerona, WV and a host of nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday January 7, 2016 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Dallas Peyton officiating. Burial will follow in the Farley Family Cemetery at True. Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Grandsons and great grandsonswill serve as pallbearers.
