Harry Edward Keffer, 84 of Hinton, went home to be with the Lord Friday evening, September 15, 2023 at home.

Born December 9, 1938 in Hinton, he was the son of the late Asel and Irene Keffer.

Harry was a lifelong resident of Summers County and a retired engineer for the CSX railroad.  He was a member of Bellepoint Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday school superintendent. Harry graduated from Hinton High School and continued his education at Concord College.  He was a former teacher at Tazewell High School and Talcott School.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jeanie Blankenship Keffer. He had two daughters, Amy (Jeff) Johnson of Hurricane, WV, and Ann (Michael) Wilson stationed at Scott AFB, IL and four granddaughters, Ashton (Nick) Wilson of Martinsburg, WV, Helen Wilson, a student at Marshall University, Chelsie Johnson of Hurricane and Sidney (Michael) Johnson of Charleston, WV.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel, Hinton, with Pastor Gary Trout officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.  Burial will be followed in Restwood Memorial Gardens, Hinton.

Pallbearers will be Mark Webb, Mike Carte, Adam Merrill, Will Reed, Danny Helms and Joe Blankenship.
